Scope of the workshop

This workshop will address fluorescence dynamic techniques that are used to quantify movement and dynamic events (i.e. diffusion, interactions, etc.) within the cell. It will also cover fluorescence correlation spectroscopy (FCS), fluorescence lifetime imaging microscopy (FLIM), Forster Resonant Energy Transfer (FRET) and Fluorescence Recovery After Photobleaching (FRAP). We will also focus on protein trafficking, including ER-PM contacts in endocytosis and PIPs and PIP conversion events in driving distinct stages of endocytosis. The relevance of these topics in Biomedicine will be highlighted.
